MASON CITY — The Marshalltown girls’ track and field team finished last out of eight teams at the Riverhawk Invitational on Thursday night.

The Bobcats totaled 54 points in the meet, just seven points behind Waterloo West (61) in seventh. Ankeny Centennial won the invite with 231 points.

MHS was led by freshman Grace Christensen, who finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.12 seconds. She was also fifth in the 200 in 28.08, followed by Niah Lott in sixth place with a season-best time of 28.22. The Bobcats’ 4×800 relay team of Millie Heitmann, Drea Ceren, Mallory Meyeraan and Elyza Ceren scored fourth in 11:26.80.

Anessa Morrison took fifth in the 800 with a season-best time of 2:44.05, while Drea Ceren ran the team’s best 1,500 of the spring to place sixth in 5:31.80. The distance medley quartet of Shailynn Sadie, Elliana Rottink, Emerson Mason and Makenzie O’Shea earned sixth (5:30.91), and Lott took seventh in the long jump (15 feet, 2 1/4 inches).
